I'm pretty sure Frank would need to choose in this scenario, there's no special exempt in Grand Slams. A tough choice, hopefully he'll have to make it.

Also, it looks like Frank has a good shot at a top 16 seed for AO qualies, which isn't a huge thing, but would be good, as it would mean an opponent in the 150s, rather than the 110s, as his biggest challenger.

Frank lost, 6:7(2) 3:6

Frank had a break in the first, and held it most of the way, but gave it back when he was serving for the set, and lost the tiebreak. Didn't really seem to generate much in the second.

Hopefully he will be able to come up with some big wins in Melbourne

Ohhhh poor Frank, so regrettably. The record in Australia is not good.
Now it is possible to participate in the Aussie Open Qualifying by this defeat.
It is complex.

Anyway I wishes the Qualifying breakthrough to be a Main Draw to some big win

Andreev is the type of player Frank isnt going to beat too often, I really don't think, it was a tough draw, but at laeast he can qualify for teh AO now

Frank's qualy draw could be a tough one. The first couple of rounds shouldn't be too bad, but Malisse is a dangerous potential opponent in the final round.

Frank won fairly easily, 6:3 6:3 over Koning, never faced a break point and had many chances on the Dutchman's serve.

Vagnozzi is next, another one easy on paper for Frank, hopefully he will continue his good form
