Frank won 75 64 against Vanni. He only faced one breakpoint the entire match, when he was serving for it. Got broken of course, but broke again to win. He will face either Fischer or Nielsen in the second round. The latter is currently up *14 in the third.

Frank really needs to do well in this challenger. It's very weak. Good chance to get some points, and then hopefully qualify through to IW and Miami and hopefully do something there

Frank missed 5 set points at 54* and lost the tiebreaker 67(3). He was by far the better player, so hopefully he can fight back.

Frank missed 5 new break points at 11*.
He only made one return on those points and tried a tweener lob on that point... I'm not sure if me made any returns on the previous 5.
No love lost between these guys, and they are both behaving like pricks towards each other. Quite amusing to watch.

Frank looses it completely at *34 and hits 4 double faults and a couple of terrible errors to get get broken. He then retires at 67(3) 35 040*. No handshake between the players. Can't say I approve of that, even though Janowicz started the "war".

What was going on between those two? I was running the stream but was busy with other things so was only listening to the second set, not watching. I heard a lot of shouting at one point, but I don't know who that was. Then when I finally had a minute to look, Janowicz had 3 mps and Frank was walking towards the ump to retire 
Frank obviously didn't want to give Janowicz the satisfaction of the W ...poor show, no matter what happened  |

Frank crushed Brugues-Davi in the first qualy round, plays Reynolds for MD. H2H is 4-4 between them.
