And about David being rude, well... I recall a match, which David lost and didn't shake his hand with the umpire after it, I think it was the match against Ljubicic in Miami/Indian Wells, can't remember now.
"didn't shake his hand" () does not mean "rude"...
he was affected by his lost

Yes, it's rude. It's proper tennis etiquette to shake the umpire's hand... even if he was a total bastard who cost you the match. Though these days it's 'ok' to wave your racquet at him if you're still pissed off

Oh, I haven't uploaded here before. Do I upload pics on this thread, the daily pics thread or on the Photo Gallery section?

David's next opponent is Melbourne's local boy so I'm guessing he'll probably be in Vodafone arena on Thursday.

Smeets practically committed an error every single time David gave him a ball with a shoulder-high ball bounce.

The only stressful event was when a trainer was called to come out. I was hoping and praying it wasn't David who needed treatment. When the trainer walked past David to see Smeets, my breathed a HUGE sigh of relief. I took pics so will post it in a few mins or so.

Oh what's so funny is that I sat next to around 10 of last year's ball boys. A couple of them said that David is really rude and is very impatient if they're too slow. I saw David today smash 3 balls sideways when one ball kid kept giving him a ball when he asked for a towel. Anyway, the ball kids were still cheering him on - even though they thought he was rude and he was playing an Australian. Quite an impression he made with just his tennis, isn't it?
Thanks for the very detailed report bailarina . It was an excellent read.

Oh, if anyone is a fan of Feliciano Lopez (whom I've never seen play), I took several photos of him (click here) practising shirtless. I posted it on his board. I didn't mean for his photos to look so soft-porn-ish but his abs were just amazing. lol.

Edit: I forgot to say the bright yellow shirt is even worse in person. And who in the world thought of BLACK shorts as appropriate for the extreme heat we get down here? David looked like he was wearing tight bicycle shorts after about a set because his sweaty shorts stuck to his legs. Thank goodness he has a good arse. Hehehe.

it is just sport, physical competition...
sometimes emotions of players are too high...

i still think that Dave is not "ruddy" he is just an emotional guy
i was not there and did not see the match, who knows may be
crowd was too "aggressive" ?

i remember Dave's last match in Switzerland vs. Wavrinka:
behavior of his opponent and extremely aggressive crowd
(they couldn’t forgive him the lost of federer)
caused the situation when Dave left the stadium very fast without any rituals and traditional interviews ...
almost similar situation was in Paris vs. local matador Gasquet...

we (fans) have to accept Dave as he is,
otherwise have to search for more inteligent
player, like Federer for example...

Oh, the rude thing was just to the ballboys. As I said, they told me that David was impatient with them when he thought they were too slow - nothing to do with the crowd. Also today, the crowd was bordering on silence (boredom on the one-sided-match I suspect) so it wasn't that. And today I saw him be rude - to smash 3 balls away when the ballboy misunderstood 3x in a row.

But don't worry about me, I lurve David. Part of the reason I like him so much is that he is angry when he's angry. He doesn't pretend. He is frustrated on the court when he makes a bad shot. He is passionate when he wins a big point. It's all good

canas - I have more photos of today but they're pretty similar to the ones I posted. Did you want them?

Huh? I was talking about the ballboys. I don't understand you anymore. It's 4am and I'm going to sleep.

Oh yes, it is somewhat rude. It is as if you didn't shake the hand of a person newly introduced to you, as that is a part of the social etiquette and shaking hands after the match with the opposing player and the umpire is the sports etiquette.

And you're takin' it too personally, no one here is saying that David is a rude bastard or what, this is a fan forum, remember?
