Re: 2008 MTF Mug of the Month
Ginepri (for failing to even qualify for AO)
Stepanek (for blowing a two set lead against Spadea!)
Robredo (for being a mug and winning one match all month and that was a Zverev choke job)

Re: 2008 MTF Mug of the Month
Technically the worst player of the AO was Donald Young:
Worst finalist was Tsonga, who beat
Nadal, who beat
Nieminen, who beat
Kohlschreiber, who beat
Roddick (worst 3rd round loser ), who beat
Berrer, who beat
Young
Maybe the Don should be a candidate.

Ginepri and Robredo both suck big balls, there was no expectation for them to do well.
Nalbandian was supposed to win AO w/o dropping a set and end world hunger, and he bends over in the 3rd round?
Sounds like a mug of the month to me.

Nalbandian gets my vote; he and the mugs that expected him to do miracles!

Re: 2008 MTF Mug of the Month
Melzer should be a strong candidate for the February accolade.
Twice leading by a break in the 3rd set (against Roddick: DC tie vs USA), to give it back, on each occasion, immediately. Going on to face break points in his next 5 service games as well (losing serve twice further), and then, after fighting back into the match to lead by an immediate break at the staret of the 5th set, dropping serve twice in succession to give Roddick all the chance he needed to seal the win. Quality stuff, as always, Jurgen.

Re: 2008 MTF Mug of the Month
So who was the mug for January? Nalbandian? Blaze, you've got to edit your thread titles to let people know these things.
George, the Austrian team aren't mugs, they would have been mugs if they won.

Funniest part is that Blake, Roddick and Bryans will play better matches on clay and lose.
