To take the money out of the people obviously is the only purpose of it.

I thought NoScript would only disable JavaScript scripts therefore some ads based on this. ABP is more complete, right?

Re: Advertisements in middle of page
I agree that the ads in the middle of pages is beyond annoying. Every day, this place becomes more of a hassel to use. I've noticed that many of the regulars here don't post as much anymore. Is that what MTF was trying to accomplish? Because it seems to be working.

The premium membership seemed to work quite well for about 3 months when it was first offered. Now it's almost like there's no difference between premium and non-premium anymore, other than having a larger avatar. Big whoop. I'd rather have zero advertisements, isn't that what the big selling point about going premium was supposed to be? What a gyp.

What she said.
Can't believe anyone bothered to pay MTF to use a message board. Some things in life are free, like bigger avatars and the ability to communicate on the net without ads in weird places.
MTF has more BS experiments than de Villiers.

Re: Advertisements in middle of page
Can we have a petition to get rid of them or something? I keep thinking that when I see an ad it's the last post in the thread.

Good idea! I keep on thinking it's the end of the thread too. I know it sounds petty to some people, but I paid Premium Membership, and these damned things really annoy me Get rid of them - please

Re: Advertisements in middle of page
Wow, not only does the NoScript plugin get rid of the ads, but it makes MTF 1000x faster. Now I'm going to have to figure out how to enable some scripts that I want to be running.

Not everybody can install all the plug-ins or the other browsers. Some of us use the computers that aren't our property.

Rosie, as you only bought a year-long membership... Will you buy a new one?

Or have to consider that there are other persons using the computer too.

Yep. The best would be ads just for free users. I mean, I have paid for more than a status logo

Re: Advertisements in middle of page
This is crazy. I'm with everyone else: what's the point of a premium membership now?
