He is definetly not injured. He is in France in the moment playing in a challenger where he has made the semis. Coming through qualifying and not dropping a set so far, he seems to be in good form.
Ramírez Hidalgo up next, who will be tough on clay. I think Sam has a big chance to win this challenger. If he does somehow win it, he would actually get his ranking inside the top 200 suprisingly enough. Although that won't last long because he has quite a few points to defend next week.
Probably was precautionary or had a niggle as he wouldn't have pulled of the semis of a $10k tournament for the sake of it. A nice surprise to see him turning his results around on clay although being indoor helps him and he has had a nice draw. He also got drafted for the KC Explorers in the WTT. He didn't get picked up till the last round but it's good to see him get to play some team tennis.
Sam wins in the first round of a Greek Challenger Tournament with a 64 36 62 win over Lammer. He won the first set after getting a break late into the first set. Then in the second set got broken at 2-2 but then broke back immediately after a Lammer Double Fault at 30-40. Lammer continued the sequence of breaks by breaking back straight away and later on closed the set out with a Groth Double Fault. Groth then got off to a flying start in the third set and broke in the first game and never looked back. Broke Lammer again at 4-2 and then served it out.
