What a wonderful, amazing movie. I absolutely love Oleg Menchikov (such an underrated actor, just because he's Russian and Hollywood directors can't be bothered to cast actual Russians in their films...). Menchikov is gorgeous, multi-talented, and incredibly charismatic. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the performance of Mr Nikita Mikhalkov himself. Very moving, subtle and absolutely spot on. His daughter was also both adorable and incredibly mature for a child actress.
Really, this film was a wonderful surprise.

I'm planning to see Django Unchained, and Lincoln (I'm a huge Daniel Day-Lewis fan).
yeah that was a great movie, one of my favorite Russian movies and better than the Barber of Sibera, which I feel Mikhalkov did to present to Westerners an idea about Russia.

Burnt By the Sun is quite old though, pity that you haven't seen it before. I think it also has a sequel that I haven't seen yet.

It has some great moral ambiguity themes, neither of the two male characters is completely wrong or right. However, the character played by Menchikov is the one who can see a bigger picture from the very start.

The movie is a rare combination of good cast, acting, cinematography, script and directing, the pace is so well crafted, everything just clicked. I saw it at least 3 times and I could watch it again.

Haven't seen that one but I've seen the Norwegian film "Trollhunter" lol which was awesome. Great tight lipped, tongue-in-cheek, british style humour. Very witty.

How did you like Headhunters?

some of you guys need to expand a little more

There are a few movies which I watch at a particular time of year. One I never get tired of is the brilliant classic: Groundhog day. No matter how monotonous you feel your life is, this one will make you realize that it's YOU that's in control. If you want happiness on tap, watch this. A light bulb will go on in your head and you'll wonder how you could have been a dummy for so long ! Bill Murray steals the show! You'll feel ambivalent about this movie. For instance, you'll laugh like a crazy person so make sure no one is sleeping! At some points you may even want to sob like a teenage girl at a Justin Beiber concert so have some hankies handy or at least a clean sleeve. Enjoy with some popcorn and someone who is cuddly but the latter is not essential for good viewing.

I also saw the movie with Ricky Schroeder, what the hell was that???? I wanted to kiss and hug him and tell everything will be ok buy I was in shock, I really really hate when they kill the hero in the end, it ruins my day!!!!!
