Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Got to semis but lost Giraldo. Good tournament but lost a chance to win 1 I think.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Poto is playing Dolgopolov in R1 of the Roma Masters. Dolgo has been in poor form the past few months, so this is a good opportunity for a victory. The winner plays Troicki/Davydenko, with the potential to meet Murray in R3, so Poto has an opportunity to go deep here. Hopefully he takes advantage and uses the Italian crowd to uplift him for a great performance.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Usually plays reasonably well at Rome aswell so I actually think he can win this first round and possible second.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Beat Dolgopolov very comfortbaly 63 63. Tough next round though with Troicki, but its winnable. Will probably be on Campo Centrale to give him every chance.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Poto lost to Murray 2-6 3-6 in Rome. After that match he did not win a match nor set in singles until this last weekend in Davis Cup, where he defeated Blaz Kavcic of Slovenia 3-6 6-3 6-2 6-4 in the second rubber.
However, Poto reached the RG QF in doubles with Bracciali. He then paired with Bracciali to beat Kavcic/Zemlja 7-6 7-6 6-2 to win the tie for Italy. He and Bracciali have had some nice results this year as a doubles pair.
Poto has a 17-17 record this year in singles. He's in Bastad this week and defeated Reister 7-6(6) 6-3 in R1, coming from 2-5 down in the tiebreaker. He plays a qualifier Dasnieres de Veigy in R2, with the likelihood of playing Soderling in the QF. Hopefully Poto can go deep this week in Sweden.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
He beat the French guy in 3 today. Made it harder than it should have been. Likely to lose against Soderling in Sweden, but all in all nice to get a few wins under his belt again.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Potito lost 3-6 4-6. Played an average match and it wasn't enough to get the victory. He also lost in doubles with Machi Gonzalez to #2 seeds Sa/Ferreiro 10-8 in a super tiebreak.
Onto Hamburg now.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Gets a qualifier in r1. If he wins he would play Almagro.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Poto plays Lukas Rosol in R1 of Hamburg.
That's not an easy match at all, but if he does win, Almagro was injured in Bastad, so he would have a decent shot at an R3. After Almagro the draw opens up so hopefully Poto can have another deep run in Hamburg.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Lost to Rosol 76 61. His form is jst dreadful now. I am unsure if he will ever recover it again to be a top 50 player once more. he is already 30 now and the only way is probably down from here. Staying top 100 for as long as possibly has to just be the aim.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Big problem for Poto is that he has 150 points to defend at Umag next week and lost the 90 from this week. So he really needs to recover alot of them points.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Poto is having the type of season he usually does. He's had a couple of outlier seasons, but he's about a 50-80 player. Hopefully he continues to win the matches he is supposed to from here on out and can get a couple wins next week in Umag.
Rosol hits the ball hard so I knew this would be an bad match-up for Potito. He was down a break in the first set and got it back with Rosol serving for it at 5-3, but it wasn't meant to be.
