Re: The Potito Starace fan club
To be fair, against Karlovic he may have been unlucky... and also Ivo beat Mathieu, so it shows even on this surface he is not easy to handle. That said, Poto needs to start getting his form back.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Starace through to face Nadal after Horna retired. It was 63 42 to Starace when Horna retired.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Lost 64 76... played a very good match. This should give Potito some confidence again, despite choking a set point with a double fault. Nadal also played quite well, so Starace did well to take this game so far, and he really got the crowd going

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
he fights to the end, despite that :retard: DF.
and he had such confidence to make those good dropshots.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
played a very good match but had an excellent chance to take it to a 3d set
even in the first set he could have gone 4-1 up and would have been easier to defend that advantage, after he got rebroken he fell apart for many games till he broke back himself in the 2nd set
if he keeps this form with a good draw he can win a few rounds at RG

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Indeed but Potito always seems to get unlucky draws. I believe he has the ability to make the top 20-25... because he is decent on hard courts aswell. By the way, that was one of the best drop shot displays and touch tennis that I have seen from an Italian for many many years.
Over here in England the question arised, which Italian player they believed has the ability to be top 20 and they said Bolelli, but I think Starace has a really solid game, if only he could win a few more of these close matches.

his hard court record is pretty bad, you hardly can make top 20 with clay courts only, unless you do well at rg and the masters and so far potito hasnt gone deep in them

Re: The Potito Starace fan club
Its starnge that his hard court record isnt good though, as his game isnt that bad for the hard courts.
