Gulbis joins Querrey and Cilic this year in making a TMS quarter final.

Zverev, Bolelli and Young are the ones who haven't done anything at either level.

neither zverev nor young have come close to the quarters in a masters whereas bolelli had pretty much the chance of a lifetime when he faced roddick in the third round in rome...and blew it. andy played some solid tennis though but anyways, what more canany player ask for?

DY and Gulbis actually have 3rd and 4th round points respectively to defend at the upcoming US Open, always a good way to test a player, if they can defend a decent amount of points from the previous year.

I don't understand why people especially Americans popularized that guy Donald Young...
I know that he is Bollettieri's pupil but he is SH***T...Thx to IMG he has got few wild cards but so far he hasn't showed NOTHING....
Hope sooner or later people will realized how bad he is...

Well, he was the number one junior. That popularized him immediately.

Donald Young was born in the second half of 89, he's significantly younger than all these other guys and he's already played rather well at times on the pro tour. He's not in good form right now but he still has a ton of time to develop. Hell, he's not even coached by Nick Bollettieri and he never has been. He's not my favorite player or anything but please don't insult him when you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

He might have trained at Bollettieri, but I am not sure I would say he is a bollettieri student. Is he? He did pretty well at the challengers last year, still trying to find his game at the atp level. Will be a fun player to watch, a little bit like murray is now, in 2-3 years imo.

DY, is definitely not from the Bollettieri forehand factory.

Donald Young is involved in Bollettieri's academy ... Thx to them and IMG in general he has got so many WC's even tho he didn't deserve but... time will show who is right and who is wrong...
No1 junior position doesn't make him a big in seniors...As I said he didn't show nothing what I would expect by reading and listening about him as a big, big American talent...
Also, he is younger 10 months from Cilic and 11 from Gulbis....not a big difference and those 2 guys showed much more then Young who had more chances from those two because they didnt get so many WCs as he did....

Maybe not a "full-time student" but definitely "part-time student"...

Agassi, Courier, Krickstein, Sharapova, Arias, Seles, they are Bollettieri forehand factory players, not Young.

Might as well call Boris Becker a Bollettieri product then, if DY is.

Wrong... Seles trained at Bollettieri's Academy but with her dad...She was working with academy's coaches for few months but her game suffered so she decided to stay in academy but to work only with her dad...

P.s. Young worked at Bollettieri's academy but this is not what we talked about....

There is no doubt that Young is an original player and not a product of a tennis academy. By the way, it is way too early to announce a funeral ceremony over his tennis career.
