In my current mood of euphoric optimism following the doubles win, I'm thinking that if only Marat could get past Karlovic, he'd face a Davydenko who has a painful wrist and who has already qualified for the Masters and who might just not have that motivation...you never know...just maybe, maybe, maybe...

Yes, you are probably right. I have a feeling that Kolya has a seething resentment of Marat but still, I shall hang on to my optimism, more fool me.
