Re: madrid
This is great!
I do have one gripe, though~~
Would someone please give TTC announcers a Spanish lesson and tell them how to pronounce Hispanic names!
It's actually not that difficult!
Go Ninja...keep it up!!!

Re: madrid
Well, looks like Cañas has also entered the court now - it's not as lopsided anymore like in the first set.

GSM Fed 6-0 6-3
He should have never lost to this guy twice in a row. At least he humiliated him today.

Oh, oh, Rogelio, you can be soooooo nasty against your 'rivals' - Roddick, Starace, Nadal, and now Cañas - all being served a tasty bagel!
I love it.

Re: madrid
Yea if Roger could play like this all the time. I know Canas was quite sh*t today, but he was in the 2nd set of Maimi too - also when Roger was playing really well. Just shows how much Canas really bothers Roger when Roger's on his game.

Re: madrid
I didn't expect this thrashing. I expected the result but I also expected Roger to struggle in the 1st set. It was a combination of Roger playing well and Canas not playing so well. Roger was essentially overpowering Canas through most of the match and Canas was having trouble getting the ball deep into the court. It was either a UE or too short. He troubled Roger in IW and Miami by keeping the ball deep even when he was out of position and waiting for Roger to commit the UE. That didn't happen today.

Re: madrid
I hope this puts to rest some of the silly comments you hear about 'grinders' bothering Federer. Only Nadal truly bothers Federer now, Nalbandian when he is on, Murray soon enough, and Djoko's steadiness. Ferrer, Canas, and the like stand NO chance against Federer if he is hitting his shots. In the 2nd set of Miami and the first half of the 3rd, Federer made Canas look like a challenger before somehow failing to break for a 2nd time against a tired Canas then getting broken himself.

The court is a lot slower in Miami so it's easier to do what Canas did there and on top of that, Federer's FH was not nearly as penetrating or precise.

Re: madrid
It looked similar to the beatdowns Hewitt used to get whenever he referred (in pre match interviews) to his DC comeback from 2 sets down against Fed.
