Not really since they're going to change a few things which seem important to him. It makes sense that he's fine with Forget in these conditions. He says it shouldn't be a big deal for Forget to accept the presence of the private coaches.
I hope you didn't buy L'équipe just for that, Julie! I can give you the full articles if you're interested.
Edit: here's what Richie says exactly:

Re: DC 2008: 1st round --> Romania
It's now official Forget remains captain.

That's not really a scoop.
(The article in Le Parisien today is much funnier for people who like the DC soap opera, with some players criticizing each other anonymously.)

It's even for 2 more years (  ).

Were there any credible alternatives?

Re: DC 2008: 1st round --> Romania
No, that's why I was sure Forget would remain captain for next year. I don't get why they had to renew it for 2 years though, it was not necessary.
The only alternative mentioned by Le Parisien is... Santoro.

And what do you think about that? He seems a very smart player to me, but I know too little about him to make a judgement if he could survive in the French tennis jungle.

Re: DC 2008: 1st round --> Romania
I don't know either. It sounds exciting for sure, but he's a bit controversial too, he really has serious issues with some of the actual players, so I have no idea...
But in terms of soap opera, that would be an awesome development.

Re: DC 2008: 1st round --> Romania
While most of the partipants have already announced the surface for the first round 2008, Romania has not yet done so.

 Austria versus US on indoor/clay in Vienna. I might give up my "Anti-DC"-attitude for that one.

Re: DC 2008: 1st round --> Romania
Re-bump. Nothing really new, actually, but it's now official:
The Romanian team is confirmed: Pavel, Hanescu and Mergea-Tecau, as usual.
And it is also official Paulo is out for that tie.

It was already posted in his forum, but since nobody seems to read there : he denied the rumours and said he's not interested in the job.

Re: DC 2008: 1st round --> Romania
Shit, I see it will be only on France 4, no more France 2-France 3, I don't get France 4 here...
Don't they want to show the new French hero on France 2-France 3?!

Re: DC 2008: 1st round --> Romania
I'm just shocked Forget picked Gilles over his beloved Seb - but Seb probably wasn't too keen either to go there as the 5th player.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good choice, Gilles has been dying to be on the team! I'm shocked I have to agree with Forget's selection for a change!
