Tennis - Spanish Tennis Federation president Pedro Munoz has come under further pressure after players published sarcastic and critical text messages sent to them following their decision not to participate in any promotional activities in protest at his running of the Federation.
"The reason for doing this is so that the directors (of Spain's regional tennis federations) realise what sort of president they have got," said Antonio Martinez Casales who coaches former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero. (Editing by John O'Brien)

Jogg, thanx for posting the followup to that Spanish federation fiasco!
Munoz seems to be a real jerk and the way he threatened the players sending abusive messages on SMS texts is both childish and unbelievably rude!
According to a Spanish online friend of mine, the most vocal in criticism against him in this case are Rafa, Moya and Juanqui, the three most succcessful players in recent years.
Hope this pathetic old man will be sacked as soon as possible because he's just a waste of time for the players who have to focus on their tennis although he's reportedly saying he won't resign...

ENTREVISTA | Juan Carlos Ferrero

Me parece fatal.

Vino Sharapova a entrenarse.

Volvamos a Muñoz.

A otra cosa.

¿Tocar algo? Hmm: tocaría la edad. (Y se va con 'Rica', 'Tera', 'Goku', 'Inca' y 'Chloe').

I think he'll play RG. I can't see him skipping it. I hope he plays it.

If someone could translate the interview that would be lovely

And that photo! I dont' know whether to laugh or give JC a massive kiss! Him and his dogs are gorgeous. I want to go on a double date, me and my pug with him and his dogs. But Deanna "i'm so jealous of the three dogs between his legs", that is just dirty! (which is never a bad thing with JC, but remember he's mine, tommy is yours!)

Thanx RogiFan for posting the interview! The photo is just gorgeous!

I read it with an online translation and the gist of the interview seems to be]
--He's saying that Munoz must leave because he's full of lies and excuses,
--He invests all the money he earned in tennis in the Valencian community, where many jobs have been created at the academy and the tournament.
--They are not against playing in Madrid but against how the situation has been handled without any explanation
--He recognises that Verdasco and Feli are having more difficulty in the situation than the others because of their connection with Madrid.
--He was on the verge of withdrawing in Rome before the Kiefer match.
--He expects to be 100% by Roland Garros and if he's physically 100% he will go to Paris to win---which is difficult but it's always dificult, no?
--The formula to beat Rafa is to believe he can win and stay aggressive.
--Federer is the all-time best but the time will tell. He also misses Agassi a little.
--And the puppies are four males and one female, and are called 'Rica', 'Tera', 'Goku', 'Inca' y 'Chloe.'

More accurate, line to line translations welcome!

Thanks everyone for all those articles.

If JC skips RG, it'll be the first grand slam he's missed since the AO 2002. I hope it doesn't happen but from a selfish point of view I'd much rather see him fit and healthy for Wimby. Hopefully he makes the right decision.

I think 2 weeks off should be enough time for him. If it's that bad, then by all means I hope he withdraws and looks after himself, thats the priority, but I just can't see him not competing at RG this time round
