March has indeed been traditionally a difficult month for Juanqui. He was lucky to have avoided the Coachella virus. He had varicela (chicken pox) in 2004 at IW, so he didn't need another illness on top of an injury. Poor Juan Carlos!
I just finished watching the 100 Greatest Players of All Time. I was disappointed that Juan Carlos wasn't anywhere on the list. With his record of achievements in and out of tennis, he should have been on the list somewhere. He did so much for Spanish tennis that it's a shame he wasn't included.
Pity he needed a WC for Madrid. His ranking would have been high enough for direct entry had he had a few wins under his belt this year. But of course his health comes first and I hope he's feeling better everyday...!
