Janko plays Davis Cup
Janko lost his first match in 5 sets versus Hewitt today.
Janko went a set down, then won the next two but couldn't keep it up. Hopefully he will be able to win his next match which will probably be against Luczak.
Ajde Janko!

Re: Janko plays Davis Cup
Here is a DC thread... *bumps*
Apparently Janko has an illness and/or injury.. According to what people have said in this forum, and here: http://www.menstennisforums.com/show...5&postcount=36

Re: Janko plays Davis Cup
It was disappointing Janko couldnt play at DC. Ive become a fan of him since AO this year, he played amazingly against Federer! I was very impressed!
Even though im happy that Russia won this round (big fan of Marat you see ) we will see great things to come for Janko, and the rest of the team!

Re: Janko plays Davis Cup
I know, it's a shame. But it's great he was there cheering on his team If he and Nole were completely healthy, along with Viktor and Nenad they could have won this tie easily, Russia played poorly. But no matter, they'll win DC soon enough!

Re: Janko plays Davis Cup
Janko will not play Davis Cup The Team went to Bratislava yesterday, and he has been replaced by Boris Pashanski, because his ankle is still not healed. The Davis Cup website has just not been updated yet Sorry.

Re: Janko plays Davis Cup
I'm kind of happy about in a strange sort of way. It means that he won't play until his ankle is fully healed.
i'd rather want him to skip the DC, than risk getting injured worse and miss out on the AO or something
Get well soon janko

Re: Janko plays Davis Cup
If this is true: http://www.rtvpink.com/vesti/vest.php?id=18216 (serbian only) Janko will play after all .
It is said that he got doctors approval and he went to Slovakia.

Personally, I'm with Sabrina - I would rather he stayed home and concentrated on getting himself fully fit for the rest of the season. With Novak and Viktor available (and Nenad for doubles), I don't think Serbia will need Janko to secure the tie, so he should rest. Perhaps he will just go and cheer on the team, but not play

Re: Janko plays Davis Cup
It was not only on Nole's website, it was in whole press that Janko was not going. If this article is correct he decided to go in the last moment.
And I agree with Sabrina and you .

Re: Janko plays Davis Cup
I was walking around the house and saw that my dad had this article open, so I read it and thought I'd post it here. http://www.glas-javnosti.co.yu/clana...ic-u-slovackoj
Basically, yes, Janko is going and it says he will play Pashanski will replace him if need be.
Janko practised yesterday without any problems, but the team doctor and physiotherapist are keeping a close eye on him anyway. There's a quote from Obradovic saying that they got the green light from Janko's doctors and that the injury's healed. I fricking hope so
