Pros and Cons for GOAT
Following Pros and Cons for each players claim to Goat.
Pros:Most consecutive weeks at 1, Most Finals in a Row, 12 slams at age 26, Most dominate in a thrre year period, Should break Sampras Slam Record. Two French Finals in which he lost to maybe the greatest clay court player ever. Samprs, Edberg, Connors, Mac never won the French either and Fed is beeter than them on Clay. Agassi and Laver have endorsed him as probable GOAT.
Cons: As of right now the players of his era are in question to some. No French Open. No Grand Slam. Modern Game is different than in the past. No Davis Cup Championship.
Pros: Most Grand Slams. Most Wimbledons. Davis Cup Champion. Played till 31. Last great serve and volley player. Most weeks at number 1, most consecutive years at number 1 (6).
Cons: Never won a French or made a Final. Considered an average clay court plyer at best. Generation of players is questioned by some. Never won a Slam.
Pros: Only Man to win 2 Grand Slams. Played some of the all time Greats. 11 Slams. Was forced to mis numerous Slams prior to Open Era.
Cons: Three of the 4 Slams played on Grass. Australian Open only had a 64 Man Draw. Considered more of MS type of Tournament.
Pros: Only man to Win Slam on 4 Diffent Surface. Had to Contend with Sampras. Most MS Titles.
Cons: Had a down period that he lacked dedication. Never Dominated his era. Not as Many Slams as those avove him.
Pros: 5 Wimbledons in a row. 6 French Opens, 3x back to back. Best slam winning percentage. Palyed in Golden Era against Connors and McEnroe. 11 Slams puts him third on all time list.
Cons: Never won an AO or Us Open. Gets a pass on AO but not on US Open. Left the game in his prime.
