AGHHHH ! HE choked away the 1st set! He's up 4-2 (or was it 4-1) in TB after winning 2 points on PHM serve. He can then later serve it out and looses BOTH his service points. Then goes on to loose it 10 - 8.

O.K. TIME TO let loose Richie. ALLEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so pissed at Gasquet. Does him playing on the logo 'Madrid' or behind it to be defensive really matter to him? It was a great opportunity for him gaining some points because it seems every seed is struggling. Actually against Paulo was not that hard compared to other seeds (Berdych, Moya, Blake..) even though he's currently on fire.

very disappointed from richard.Great opportunity to get some precious points for shangai.So much hope for this tournament for him.
I'm just sad that he cant overcome the expectations upon him

Whoa - a little harsh there. I'm sure he is crushed. The last few games he looked REALLY, REALLY pissed, as he should have been. UP 40-15 after breaking back to even the second set and hits 4 unforced forehand errors to get broken again

He and Berdych (and maybe Baggy) are fast becoming the lost hopes of the new "baby balls" generation. Meanwhile Nadal, the Joker and even the whinner, Murray are taking the "young guns/baby balls" title which KILLS me cuz I really don't like the 3 of those and really do like 2 of the 3 lost hopes.

He has had high expectations riding on him for years, seems he should be learning to deal with it. Still love him to death

but I am beginning to face the fact that Richie might not be able to break through despite his enormous talent. Still haven't given up yet but ...

Maybe he is just saving up for LYON and Paris and will make a dramatic showing in his home to capture the last spot.

Obviously not. Until/unless that changes I'm afraid he will not see the Top 10. And the weird thing is that he does well when he plays agressively. His volley and overhead are good and when he hits a flat forehand it can actually be quite good too. YOu know today, his best shot was a drop shot! He had 6 or 7 drop shot winners - how aggressive.
