Re: Nickname reference list...
Federer has been called "The Mighty Fed" by Boddo and Wertheim lately, and it seems to spread on the web...

Re: Nickname reference list...
Just curious: I see Hewitt was called the Weasel when this thread was started, when did people begin to call Coria that way? After Hamburg?

Re: Nickname reference list...
I didn't see Nadal's nicknames in your list.
One irritating thing is how some announcers pronounce "Rafa" as "Hafa" thinking that a Spanish "R" sounds like an "H". It doesn't.
Some how it sounds endearing to call Roger "Potato". I don't think his nose is that bad though. I've also heard him refered to as "Lion King".
How is Stepanek's nickname, "Tom Cruise".

Yep Cliff Drysdale is overemphasizing his pseudo-Spanish accent in a weird way... "RRRafa Nadal"

Re: Nickname reference list...
What's up with the sudden revival of 2 yr old threads on GM?
I notice that almost all of the people that contributed in the first 10 pages of the thread (registered 2002/3) are no longer users at MTF.
What happened? Was there a plague? A meteor? Did they move on to the golf forums ?

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)

How about some nicknames…
Starting form the top…
The way Federer wins so often and so convincingly I figure “The Terminator” would work.
With Nadal’s speed and whip-like forehand I’m thinking “The Cobra” for him.
Although Nalbandian is frequently referred to as “Fat Dave” I think he’s a lot more brawny and solid than he is fat, so I’ll go with “The Tank” for David.
Anyone else?
