Default What's with all the betting in GM?

I'm quite new here and not really a regular, but lately I think I've noticed an increase in people in General Messages linking to betting advice, picks, showing their winnings in result threads, mocking people who bet on a match and lost, et cetera.

I have nothing against betting, but wouldn't it be better to have GM entirely betting/gambling-free and perhaps encourage people to use the Gamblers' Lounge more? At this moment, that's much less frequently visited than GM.

Thanks for your consideration!

I know, that's the point, why let people discuss it in GM?

Not that gambling would be a problem for me but posts that are only about betting should belong to the betting forum. For me it's OK to point out if MTF's or one's own opinion on the match outcome differs from bookies' opinion or one might suspect a fixed match but talking about who one bets for should belong to the betting forum, that'd bring a bit more discussion there.
