It is the most troubling thought that none of us is the slightest bit disappointed but honestly, is there anybody who actually believed he'd beat Kiwi tonight? Before the match? It's like when you hear "TOP 10" player you get this magical feeling he might do it again, but you kind of know he'll lose. With players around 100 you think "he COULD win this, should win this", but with Players of a name, like Kiefer, Monfils, no matter how crap they actually play, you don't really believe he's going to make it. Fortunately he has no points to defend in Cincinnati but I honestly don't see him do anything in US Open with this attitude.

Like in his second set against Nadal?

I am most disappointed with his physique... he looked so much fitter in the training pics. Why can't he use it?

the atmosphere in GM is sort of a bitch. When did Safinho become so common? I had been away from the boards for a few months and then I come back and saw more than a few people using it. Like, you can support safin without being called some sort of 12year old, and by turns, stupid fan girl. Its sort of annoying. I just sort of lurk on those "marat loses to whoever" threads, or say something pretty short and to the point.

GM is a depressing place and an alarming reflection of how ignorant, disrespectful and nasty humans can be. Frankly, who can have such good ideas about humanity reading posts on GM? Of course there are good people there, but they are outnumbered and outshadowed by the mean ones. Given that this is only a forum for tennis lovers, can't imagine how worse it would for other boards with broader interests.

Like in the first or like in the last two against Fed. Against top players he can show at least glimpses of good tennis. Against all others it's only crap. That's why I agree with Armada, he needs to play more against top players even if it would mean losses in the first rounds (he loses in the fisrt rounds anyway).

If only the draws were that nice. At least he would get practice. Then again, I know one has to get into a certain rhythm each tournament, but Marat's not a new player nor he is unused to playing top players. He should be able to beat these way lower ranker players and I don't think it is asking too much to expect this from someone ranked the way he is. He's 24 in the world! Thats not too bad, but he's playing like he should be in the low 50s or worse. ugh!

LOL, can we discuss his game here?
I mean can someone PLEASE explain me where has his FH disappeared?
Kiefer was serving amazingly, great placement and good speed! And Marat was serving like all over the court, like he didn't even care! Those DFs!

P. S: The hair is getting too long.
