if you cared to pick up some history book about the recent history of your own freakin continent, you'd know that eastern europe is a highly voluble concept that is in many ocassions is more based on cultural aspects than in geographic ones. in the former sense, both estonia and latvia were part of the eastern bloc as soviet satellites as thus many consider them to be part of eastern europe. in the latter, it can be argued that they're located in north eastearn europe or north central europe. it's a matter of degrees and a discussion not even worthy of getting at except for the nationalist clowns that can be found in some places of mug countries of europe or perhaps elsewhere given that some keep posting randomly assorted BS in tennis forums.

In North America, I think most people do consider Estonia and Lativia, Eastern Europe.

Agreed There's nothing more funny than when some (I'm talking in general) are trying to "escape" from the Eastern Europe, and try to position themselves as Central Europe or whatnot. For most of the world there is Eastern Europe and then there is Western, and that's about it

Well, you spelt it correctly, but the word is ''volatile'', which you seem to have wrongly plagiarised from the first line of wikipedia.
But since the countries in question were considered to be in Eastern Europe during the communist, imperialist occupation, then that is probably the definition you would prefer.
Nowadays the preferred description is ''Northern Europe.'' The inhabitants probably don't want to be reminded of their days as Eastern Europeans.

As for me, I have been to:
South America - Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.
Central America - Bahamas, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Netherlands Antilles, U.S. Virgin Islands.
North America - United States and Mexico.
Europe - United Kingdom, France, Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany (only the Munich airport).
Africa - nothing.
Asia - nothing.
Australasia - nothing.
Places that I've never been to but intend on visiting some day:
South America - Uruguay (Montevideo and Punta del Este), Chile (Santiago and maybe a ski resort like Valle Nevado) and I'd like to go back to Buenos Aires to watch a Boca-River match or a Davis Cup tie.
North America - New York and Las Vegas, because I've only been to Florida and California yet.
Europe - The Netherlands, Monaco, Italy (Vatican included), Germany (Berlin), Sweden, Russia, maybe the Croatian seaside (Dubrovnik) and definitely a return to Paris.
Africa - South Africa surely, Namibia and Angola maybe.
Asia - The Middle East, especially Dubai.
Australasia - Australia, maybe New Zealand.
Your turn!
|
Three years later, I can add Italy to my list. And I've also been to NY and Vegas, so my USA list is complete.
I'm going back to Buenos Aires in November, but sadly not for a Boca game.
