Default Reducing Grip Size?

Just wondering, is it possible to get a handle size reduced? I got a new racket recently but I think the grip is too thick, and as a result I'm losing grip and control...

if the grip is too thick it depends on how much and what racket

I suppose you could. But can't you return that racquet, and get one with a smaller grip. That would probably be easier.

take off the base grip and just replace it with an overgrip

dont want to replace it with an over grip as that will give you blisters you need to replace it with a thinner replacement grip or shave it down with a plane sander
