Terrorist attack at Glasgow airport?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/6257194.stm
More news keeps coming out about it, but it seems that it was a terrorist attack. Some sources of Sky News have said that there were bombs in the car.

Yeah....saw that. Another welcome message for Mr. Brown? As for security against this type of thing, what can you do?
Jeep on fire driven smack into the airport wall.

Re: Terrorist attack at Glasgow airport?
So the new PM is the reason for these recent attacks?
Last time there were attacks on the buses and the underground was a few days after Wimbledon was over.

There's been some speculation to that effect, but no one really knows.

Re: Terrorist attack at Glasgow airport?
The fact that the attacks are "being treated" as a terrorist attack of course doesn't mean that it is one.
We should find out soon...

Yep an obvious "message to Gordon" - it shall be interesting to see who exactly is behind this attack. The only reports I have seen are of the men being "Asian." Shame the police didn't shoot them dead but I guess it is essential they are questioned.

Re: Terrorist attack at Glasgow airport?
I'd be able to see the smoke if I went walking down the road for a minute. Last time the airport was this quiet was on 9/11.
It's the first weekend of the school holidays here and it's the day with the most families in the airport. You've got to wonder if that was what the timing is.
However, it's an obvious possibility that these terrorists were the same ones behind the failed London bomb attempts and this was an improvised second attempt.

Yeah, cos the police are sooooo reliable
Last time that the police shot a terrorist suspect dead, they murdered a totally innocent young man in London. It is frankly scandalous that they got away with it too
In the "civilised West" we have a maxim called "innocent until proven guilty". It is one of the things which differentiates us from states run by totalitarian dictators, and is something which we should hold on to very dearly.

Re: Terrorist attack at Glasgow airport?
A terrorist attack isn't made overnight. I believe it has nothing to do with the new PM.

Re: Terrorist attack at Glasgow airport?
From the reports now, it appears they were trying to ram their way into the airport and run people over while throwing petrol bombs around but they got jammed on the bollard at the entrance.
The police at Glasgow Airport have MP5 submachine guns and would have shot them dead had they got through but a lot of people could have been injured or killed first.

Re: Terrorist attack at Glasgow airport?
Well, apperantly they found a bomb on one of the injured suspects when he got to the hospital.
It took them till he got to the hospital to FIND IT? This could have been a nightmare.
