Alex to play French Open :)
I just read that Kafelnikov, who is apparently only semi-retired, has decided NOT to play the French Open, so Alex gets to be the replacement

According to what I read he gets to play so I don't think he has to qualify now. Which is GREAT news. I think it is a shame when a runner up, who has had a rough year, has to suddenly qualify. He should get instant entry. Of course, it could be because it's Alex that I say this  |

Alex better do better than first round... he needs to get back into it, like Albert this week [I don't feel SO badly that my Rogi lost to Albert cos he is an RG champion after all!]
