Here's what I just wrote in the "rankings" thread :
Some may be interested in the number 2 seed for Roland-Garros and Wimbledon
between Djokovic and Federer :
currently Djokovic is ahead by 195 points to Federer for the number 2 seed in Roland-Garros (and he will play two tournaments more in Monte-Carlo and Belgrade ... but will only count Monte-Carlo if he reaches the semifinal -60 points- or the final -300 points-).
But for the number 2 seed in Wimbledon, and considering the specific rules for that seed (points from previous years on grass are added to the ATP rankings with a formula : add points on grass from last 52 weeks (Queens/Halle 2011 included) + 0.75*best result on grass from year N-2 (Queens/Halle 2010 included)),
Federer is so far ahead of Djokovic for that number 2 seed in Wimbledon by 695 points (since so far he has 870 "additional grass points" thanks to his win in Wimbledon 2009). That's slim but it's something.
Queens and Halle 2011 will count "double" in that account.
As for the number 1 position after Hamburg
(when Fed will get his 300 points from Dubai -by the way it would be funny if ever he got the number 1 at that moment without playing : that would put the ATP500 rule into brutal light
) , I write here what I've already written in another thread ( "Who will be number 1 after Wimbledon ?"
) about the positions so far :
