With Nadal losing to Ferrer, Roger is certain to overtake Nadal in the 2007 rankings after the US Open. If he can retain his US Open title, then he looks like a certain #1 for the year.

Theoretically he could still lose it many times over. There are two masters events, the TMC and several optionals still to be played. I just can't see it happenening though. Not unless Roger gets injured.
