Jeff & Tomas lost R1 in Doha, and then Jeff got in Auckland as a lucky loser/alternate with Alberto Martin--they lost R1 to Jim Thomas & Fernando Gonzalez.
I expect Jeff is now in Melbourne, preparing for the AO!
Jeff played with Karsten Braasch--they beat Ancic/Ljubicic in R1 6-4, 6-4. Then lost to Beck/Sargsian in R2 4-6, 7-6(2), 5-7. Unlucky guys, amazing win though--Delray next up.
Jeff is in Phoenix, Arizona this week for the Tennis Channel Open in Scottsdale. He plays with Mario Ancic of Croatia, and they play Thomas Van Houdt & Irakli Labadze in R1... PLEASE Win Jeff, you need this to get confidence, and to get your ranking back up. Mario has a big serve and good hands, and has a little experience playing doubles, while Tom Van Houdt is also a doubles specialist, and I would guess Irakli kind of hovers between singles and dubs
Good luck boet!
Jeff's playing Davis CUP! He got selected for the South African team to play the Europe/Africa Zone Group I 2nd Round tie against Germany. Alongside Wes Moodie, Wayne F & Rik de Voest, they'll play at home. I'm so happy for him, good luck man...
He'll prob play dubs with Rik, while Wes & Wayne play both singles..
What a crap match of Kiwi and Rainer! :retard: :retard:
A doubles with such good teams should normally go to a 5 set match, I really expected much more from this match, Kiefer/Schüttler incredibly bad, they never played together anymore since Athens and they played line newbies
Moodie was incredible, completely unbreakable the whole match and terrific volleys at the net. And Coetzee mostly also did a good job, you saw his doubles experience.
Yeah, Jeff is in Mexico for these 2 weeks. I think he is not playing this
week, he couldn't get in to this week's challenger or wasn't feeling good anyhow(injured or ill). Next week he will play a challenger there . Then he'll go to Bermuda then to Houston before going to Europe.
Thank you JMG... I have been so busy recently, so was not able to update Jeff's site myself-I asked a french friend of mine (and Jeff's), she seems to have her wires crossed!!
1st Rnd vs Tuomas Ketola/Wesley Moodie 4-6 ret.
QF vs Daniel Langre/Victor Romano 7-6(5), 6-0.
SF vs Santiago Gonzalez/Alejandro Hernandez 7-5, 6-4
F vs Ratiwatana/Ratiwatana OR Marshall/Montgomery
