Adequate performance from the Canadian outside of the 19 aces. Will have to be better vs Roger to have a chance. Never really got out of third gear, but it wasn't necessary. Hit some huge shots and made a lot of winners, especially the three straight winner returns to go up 40-*0 at 2-*0 in the second set, but also made quite a few sloppy errors.
Berlocq competed as hard as always, and made the match significantly more competitive than it probably should have been with his fighting and determination, but just didn't have any weapon whatsoever to truly be a factor in the match, and made too many errors himself.
I was watching this match and looking at the live scoreboard for the Federer match simultaneously.
It was amazing how the 2 scores were almost always the same throughout. It went 6-4 in the first set at the same time and they broke their opponents at the same time too. When it was 5-1 40-40 for both matches in the second set, that's the only time the scores diverged. Fed got the advantage and broke Kudla once more but Milos couldn't get it done and needed to close it out on his own serve.
rao needs to temper some of his aggression and be more patient. he also needs to develop a drop shot with his opponents typically pinned 8-10 ft behind the baseline during rallies. inside-in fh and bh still need some work. solid performance overall.
Did not see the match, but the outcome is not surprising. Milos outclasses Berlocq.
Finally we will get that Raonic vs. Federer that we have been waiting for.
