Herbert - nice new surprise. Well done! Wonder what he can do to back it up.

Cervantes and JP both one win away... Although JP would be overtaken easily, hopefully 2 more wins
No, according to Slasher's live rankings, Edmund is currently sitting on 100 with 533 points for next week.

Cervantes is currently on 519, and needs to reach the SF; JP needs to win the tournament to go past that (plus possibility of others jumping over them and adding a few more points to the needed tally).

Re: New to the top 100 - 2015 [20] │Bhambri enters

Does anyone know if there was an equivalent thread to this one in 2011?
I don't think so - what info were you looking for? Someone found the numbers for each year earlier in the thread so can probably dig up the list. But there were 18 that year, and I've identified 11 (those those still in top 100 at the last time I did a check of histories a few months back) - in order of entry:

Dimitrov & Raonic (Jan 31)
Haider-Maurer 4 April
Paire 2 May
Rosol 6 June
Ramos-Vinolas 20 June
Tomic 4 July
Harrison 25 July
Klizan 12 Sept
Ebden 17 Oct

Please welcome the latest entry into top 100 .

After beating Isner today, Ernests Gulbis from Latvia passed the 100 mark and is No. 97 in live rankings .... hey wait ..
:nerd: A re-entry though so, doesn't meet the criteria for this thread!

In fact Mr Gulbis made his debut in the top 100 on 26 February 2007...:wink2:

PS As an entertaining side note, Gulbis was the first of his year (born in 1988) to make the top 100. Two others from his year made their debut some months after Gulbis, in October of 2007. Both of them are slam winners, viz Delpotro and Cilic. Have to wonder if a similar pattern might recur in the 1996er group now that Coric has apparently been waylaid by wine, women and...

Coric is very likely to win several slams, unlike Gulbis.

Those are very good shouts, especially Fratangelo, Rublev, Tiafoe, Khachanov and Ymer are due to reach that stage in 2016 if they really take progress seriously.
