Cipolla would never spread such vicious rumours.
and Nole needs the cheese to fuel his infamous stumbling donkey-kick slice.

Yeah...
And Russians are paying more than that for caviar...
And Americans are paying thusands of dollars to go to a dinner with Romney...
And some Swiss are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for a Rolex...
And some French are paying a thousand times more for a fine Armagnac...
And rich people all over the world are paying millions and millions of dollars in useless things to buy status...
That's the way the capitalist world works...
Not nice, but hardly Serbians' fault.

Re: Nole Buys World's Supply of Donkey Cheese
Novak didn't buy it...his restaurant bought it, for its clients... There's nothing wrong or odd about it... Some French restaurants buy the entire production of truffles in a certain region, to offer their costumers. Truffles are sold for up to $3500 a pound.
Why this is news, beats me...
But I'm not complaining: as Oscar Wilde once remarked: "There's only one thing worse than being talked about : not being talked about".
As long as people keep talking about Novak...

fair enough. He's a patriotic guy so maybe he didn't care if it was pricey.
But trust me it wouldn't be the worlds only donkey cheese if every producer could fetch $500/pound. Maybe Nole unintentionally made some farmers start planning donkey cheese business by putting some attention on the product.
In 20-30 years we can all eat the delicious donkey cheese thanks to Nole.

Off season...anything where you can come up with a legitimate "ass" pun is news (ass is another name for donkey, if any non-native English speaker should wonder). As for the things one buy, I've certainly seen worse than this. Not that I'm tempted to eat some myself....

World supply or Serbia's supply?
Or is Serbia the only supplier of this delicacy?
