Re: Indian Wells Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated February 28, 2011)

Overall I think Indian Wells did a really good job with their WC selection. You could argue that perhaps another American youngster like Jack Sock would draw more than say Tomic will, but being a Master's Series event I think that you have to award on overall talent regardless of nationality.

I think that they also made a wise call regarding Philippoussis, as giving him a main draw WC to an event of this prestige in his first tourney back would have been going too far, while a qualifying WC rewards his comeback while also drawing greater attention to the preliminary matches.

Jack Sock would have taken the championship without losing a set. That's why they're keeping him on the outside. The tennis world isn't ready for him yet.

I think Tsonga is out for 2-3 months? right?
So he will definitely miss Indian Wells....

Re: Indian Wells Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated February 28, 2011)

"Since the start of the season I (Tsonga)'ve had a hernia problem,"

"I will have to see how the injury responds to treatment and based on that maybe I will need to have an operation," he said.

"But that would put me out of action for two to three months."
Don't know if there's any further info about his condition.

Re: Indian Wells Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated February 28, 2011)

no he will play IW sure, but thereafter he may make surgery, but more probably after Miami, during clay season. Verdasco too has to make a break for a surgical treatment but he will wait for grass season i think.

Re: Indian Wells Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated March 6, 2011)

Anyone knows why Ljubicic was not playing the Davis cup against Germany ?

And why is Dodig out ? Davis cup loss ?

It's now that Raonic will have to confirm that he is definitely among the top players this 2011 season, with more pressure than the previous weeks :)

Dodig was out before Davic cup.
