No thread about this guy yet?

He is 18 years old and climbing the rankings, especially since his SF in Milan a week ago.

Fede has shown a lot of his ability this season and is starting to breakout in a more consistent way. He qualified and made the QFs of Vina Del Mar, easily defeating Massu and Bellucci in the first two rounds, as well as qualified and defeated Gil in Buenos Aires, winning two tough three-setters in the qualifying. To begin the season, he made the SF of Sao Paulo on hardcourt, and he made the QF of the Marrakech challenger last weekend, beating two good players in Gimeno-Traver and Donskoy before losing a close match to Klizan, who went on to win the title.

After last seasons' SF in ATP Stuttgart one would think that he would progress afterward and have big results to end 2011, but that wasn't the case, with three challenger QF being his best results. But it seems in 2012 he's starting to come into his own and become the player we all know he can be. Hopefully this progress will continue. His next scheduled tournament is Casablanca qualifying next weekend, hopefully he can qualify into another tour event and do some damage in the MD!

Fede qualified into Casablanca, defeating Arnaboldi, Di Mauro and Devilder to make the MD. Unfortunately he lost in the first round to Chardy 4-6 5-7.

This weekend he is playing in Monte Carlo qualifying and won his first round match over countrymate Mayer 7-6(5) 6-4. Fede was down 0-*4 in the first set and had to save several break points the final couple games of the match so this is a great mental win for him. He now plays Ungur for a spot in the MD. Hopefully he can qualify, it would be his first ever Masters 1000 event!

Bump. Delbo not won match this year on grass  Speed lost in Eastbourne and now at Wimbledon against Nieminen

I hope that he will have better results now on hard courts. Next tournament - Stuttgart (still on clay).
