I saw Mathieu in a Junior event several years ago. Tsonga was playing the same event (in fact, they played doubles together).
At the time, I was more impressed with Mathieu and his enthusiastic all-court play than I was with Tsonga.
Mathieu just seemed to have so much natural passion and love for the game, which is rare today.

After his death, it's a little more rare...
