err i dunno how to describe it... just like normal non-classical music?? haven't been listening to non-classical music long enough to know what genre it is... i'll send one of his songs to you at home later
I keep thinking it's "kent",...we can thank GWH for my confusion.
Just downloaded Found Half, Lost half. His voice is so different! I like it! (Yes, being Swedish is enough to make him good! I guess that's similar to why I like The Rasmus!! - Finnish group) The music reminds me of James Blunt / Elbow. I'm hopeless at Genre, so I label people according to other artists
Will download the other song just as soon as this coldplay stuff is finished
Best nights sleep last night...i had a thomas dream :yippee:
My Thomas dream…
I saw him in playing his match somewhere and me and my friend Louise sat on a bench next to his chair and he looked over and recognised me. Then I had to go and do something and came back and saw a big queue of people waiting for his autograph on the stairs. He again looked over at me and I said ‘hey thomas’ and he said ‘hi’ and I said ‘do u recognise me’ and he said ‘yeah how are you’ and then the people waiting for autos disappeared and I walked with him to the lifts. Then I said ‘Thomas can I ask you something’ and he said ‘sure’ *looking interested* and I asked him why he goes to the loo after warm up but before a match like he did at Wimbledon and I cant remember what he said but I know it didn’t make sense!! (we got in a lift and I NEVER get in lifts so he must have cured my fear  or distracted me )
Then we walked to a supermarket talking and then he went to look at frozen vegetables and I waited at another aisle for ages. So I went over to see him and said ‘am I annoying you’ and he said ‘yes’ so I was like ‘oh ok I’ll leave you then bye’
I cant remember if he said anything else but he had his short hair and was wearing non tennisy clothes
OMG! What a dream! Kinda weird but interesting for sure. I certainly wouldn't like to be the one to analyse it! :haha:
Ok, this is a special msg for anybody interested...Denaon is trying to create a new game, starting with the USO. It's called PBP (Pick Best Performance). You can find all the rules here. And if ppl sign up rather fast, the game will be able to start next week. Come and join us!
guys... totally off-tennis-topic. but i'm applying to go on an exchange to Uppsala Uni in Sweden for next year, and i have to do this 'statement of purpose' which is basically an essay on why I want to go to sweden and Uppsala. I need help! If you can help me come up with a few reasons why Sweden is such a great country to choose for the exchange I'd be most most grateful (cos I can't just say that they have the greatest tennis players now can I )
I'm on exchange in Ireland now, for a full year No tennis tourneys in Ireland though :bigcry:
Anywayzzzz, Sweden, well I think the quality of the universities there is quite good, better than say, Spain or Italy. I'll try to come up with other things
Margaret, what kind of reasons are you looking for?
The things that come to my mind:
- it´s a great country with beautiful landscape
- people are very friendly
- the unis have a high standard (as far as I know)
- Uppsala is one of the most famous unis in Sweden
- you would like to learn swedish...
Hope this can help a bit, maybe it´s not that good, but I can´t come on more things right now...
Well the questions say:
1. What are your reasons for pursuing an exchange experience?
2. How does an exchange experience fit in with your academic and career goals?
3. Highlight the key criteria that drew you to your first preference institution.
4. Highlight briefly the reasons behind the selection of your second and third preferences. (I put Lund second and Malmo third)
5. What challenges do you think you will face? Outline briefly the strategies you can employ to overcome these.
6. What contacts have you had with cultural groups other than your own? Highlight any involvement in multicultural organisations, etc.
7. When you are on exchange, you are an ambassador for the University of Sydney and for AUstralia. What does that mean to you?
8. Do you have other comments to add in support of your application?
it's like a job interview!
Siobhan, how's uni going so far? enjoying it?
Francine, did you have to do this kind of thing when you applied? What were your answers?
Birte thanks for the ideas I'll probably need more to fill 2 A4 pages though...
there's about 10 people applying for Swedish unis but whether or not i get in depends on how many people from Sweden want to come to Sydney... then they choose based on our grades, then the 'essay'. What uni are you at Francine?
