I haven't watched any finals that involved those two because the last time I did it I fell asleep. They are sooo boring to watch (no offense ).
Wawrinka! He's not a grinder and has lots of offense.

Anyway Ernests said he didn't have a back problem in the presser, so Wimbledon etc. should be safe . I'm mentally preparing myself for a slight letdown after this RG actually, but hopefully he'll be able to pick things up again soon enough if that happens. I'm not expecting him to suddenly win each small tourney he plays and reach QF at every major .

Ok, I admit I'm not familiar with Wawrinka's game. Will watch out for him.

Ernie said that he is now "addicted to success" and hungry to win more, as he should be. So I actually expect him to do well at every tourney from now on and work on getting to top 5. If Wawrinka can do it, so can he. This has been a long time coming and no time to waste anymore. Unless of course he gets injured, which I hope will not happen. (fingers crossed)

well, if ernie's goal is to eventually be in the top 5/ top 3, and win majors, he has to start getting deep runs in the big tournaments.

an unfortunate trend in tennis, and it affects other sports too. Talent, technique, and creative shotmaking have taken a backseat to mechanical consistency and super fitness.

Ernests in terms of pure shotmaking is one of the best on the tour today, better than nadal and djokovic. only federer and grigor dimitrov are maybe slightly better.

but unfortunately, these grinding morons with their "vitamin supplements" are at the top.

I think he did well to take a set. And I like his maturity. Looking forward to better things

The brute force in Ernie's game is incredible. It's sad (and slow surfaces everywhere today don't help) that defense is rewarded so heavily compared to offense. But Ernests has enough of the brute power to hit through opponents even on slow courts as he demonstrated during RG .

I think he should just withdraw from Queen's, rest up, and play wimbledon fresh

i think he needs grass court prep somewhere. If not queens then he should take a wild card in one of the events the week before.you cant expect him to go in to wimbledon with no match play on grass at all and expect him to do well.
