Re: AO 2015 QF: (7) T. Berdych def. (3) R. Nadal 6-2 6-0 7-6(5)
Glad to see Berdych win finally. Nadal wasn't going anywhere like this yet (and I discussed this in various spots long before this match) but in a couple months we will see where he is game-wise. Pretty similar to other breaks and how he started off afterwards; sometimes good play, sometimes decent play and sometimes crap play.
Also looked uncomfortable moving to his forehand side and touched the hamstring a few times but to be expected to have such things happen when returning to the scene.
Re: AO 2015 QF: (7) T. Berdych def. (3) R. Nadal 6-2 6-0 7-6(5)
Wow. To be honest I still thought Nadal was a bit crap this tournament before this match and that Berdych would have his chances game-wise unless Nadal had improves hugely. But I was not bold enough to predict this. I didn't expect it to be quite that easy for him as in the first 2 sets. And credit to him closing out a closer final set. I am sure many thought it was the beginning of the end when Nadal saved MPs and came back from 5-1 to 5-4 in the TB, but he was still very vulnerable on serve so I thought Berdych would finish it sooner rather than later.
Berdych to potentially pull a Wawrinka this AO... Would be well deserved though personally I'll be hopoing this is as far as he goes.

Wow, surprised by this. 17 is a row in the end proved less significant. Really thought 18 was coming here, even despite Nadal being some ways from his best. Credit to Berdych, well played.

Not entirely unexpected. Rafa made a slam quarter final out of the blue. He's going to have a very successful 2015. Congrats to Berdy and his coach. If he was ever going to beat Rafa again it was in this match where Rafa is only just starting to make his comeback.

No point replying to "Godig" who can't even compose a sentence.
There's no one here making "excuses" and most of us predicted this sort of thing, if not from Anderson then from Berdych or anyone else. I think both Berdych and Anderson are nice guys, no problem at all with either one winning.
Rafa is not at his level and we all know that; you don't beat a guy 17 times in a row and play like this against him in a 'normal' match.
Rafe needs a few months of match play and training block.
Tomas on the other hand does look improved in a few regards: better movement, less predictable second serve and going after the Nadal forehand which was also more doable given the current state of Rafa's legs and the less threatening forehand at the moment.

Birdy was enraged that Rafa disrupted the Birdy-Anderson celestial event Seriously Birdy
Anyway, I saw this coming from a mile. If not Birdy, Andy would have crushed Rafa given his form. Overall, I would say this was not a bad tournament for Rafa, I was expecting him to do much worse. His rustiness clearly showed when things got tight (those DFs ). Off for a small break and back to rebuilding his game and confidence on the SA tour, onwards and upwards.

nice match from Berdych! He didn't choke for once!
good riddance to Nadal. He was lucky to get by Smyczek.
