Jiri called it quit!!!
Todays match in Basel was the last one in Jiri Novak's professional career on ATP tour. I would like to thank Jiri for everything he had done for czech tennis, for his willingness to always represent our country and for his dedication to sport itself. Thanks for the memories Jirka and best wishes for the next part of your life, I will miss you.
Jiri also announced that he is going to play his farewell tournament in Prostejov. Probably the last chance for some of his fans to see him playing live.

Re: Jiri called it quit!!!
I'd love to see him live once more again, but I fear I won't... He had a great career, though it seems so strange that he fought back and now retires after just getting back on track. Enjoy your retirement Jiri, the most overlooked top-5 player ever probably.

Re: Jiri called it quit!!!
Sad to hear... It surprised me because Novak was coming back and playing really well as well as climbing back up the rankings... and now retires.
A very solid career, one he should be very proud of...
Hopefully we might see him play on the Senior tour.

Re: Jiri called it quit!!!
Thanks Novak for all your great tennis. Achieving top 10 rankings in both singles and doubles is a rare achievement today.
Novak has beaten so many good players like Federer in Gstaad and Nalbandian in Basel. This shows that he was a solid player.

Re: Jiri called it quit!!!
Kosice Challenger 2007 was his last tournament as pro.
In 2008 he is succesfully playing Bundesliga for Kurhaus Lambertz Aachen, with wins over active top 100 players
