Del Potro can apply his type of game against Nadal because it's mostly Del Potro's offense vs Nadal's defense which sets him up for his devastating shot selections.
But can Del Potro replicate his results against Federer and Djokovic? He's only had one win over Federer and none over Djokovic at the slams. So it remains to be seen.
I think he's a solid player, but I'm not sure if he'll ever come back to the point of grand slam contention.
Maybe he'll continue with QF runs but there's no indication he's at that top 4 level.
He played aggressive against Ferru too. After he did withdraw in Paris he said that he will be working his offensive game for next year, i guess he wanted to test it already in Davis Cup.
Stop crying and give Nadal credit for once. Just because Olderer and Mugray can't win a single DC, doesn't mean you have to sulk like Mugray after he loses a point :baby:
That will be the last victory of Rafa for quite some time.. With his joke mentality and pathetic game, I hope the disgusting player loses every single match next season. He's disgraceful. He should just retire. He's a joke.

Great bump. IMO, this was the best clay match of the past few years, sensational stuff.
del Potro didn't choke at all, he was just outlasted by Nadal really, his stamina was really poor at the time. He played lights out for some stretches though and fought his heart out. Some highlights:
If you just want to see Nadal's best points:
