Nice but the last 2-3 years the gap between him and the big three has widened especially with djokovic. It will be very interesting rating Andy once its over considering how consistent hes been in his only to be derailed by 3 all time greats.
It's not even 2 years and won't be until July. The gap at the moment highlights how spending even a few months off tour with injury can set you back (pun intended).
it is fascinating how poor the depth of the field has been the last decade or so. I mean absolutely terrible, there are no players ranked lower who have the right combination of guts + talent + fitness to really do much
fantastic top few guys obviously, but it's pretty shocked how mediocre everyone else has been. incomparable to any other era. and if that wasn't the case then you would have more lower ranked specialists stepping up to win Wimbledon or RG which has not happened. it's just a total lack of good players in general
Blame the homogenization of surfaces among other things...but now that the top guys are practicing with the younger guys we should see the tide reverse sooner rather than later!
