Finally. I won't read too much into this result as Gimeno-Traver is hardcourts mug, but it's still a good and much needed win for Gulbis. I really hope he can get past Clownini/Mannarino and set up a clash against Murray - maybe a match against one of the top guys on a big stage is exactly what Gulbis needs to get his game back on track.
was against a guy in worse shape than him but i will take the win. the scoreline looks great but i will wait for stats or a report from someone who saw it
Gulbis' ranking is on its way down to hell. I don't see him staying in the top 100 after the French Open. He has so many points to defend and lose during the next two or three months. I can't believe so many people are excited 'bout this win. He won't win his next match. His forehand is more than likely to let him down yet again. I suggest he change his forehand once again. His forehand just goes in a circle. It keeps coming back after one or two years of good time. He's gettin old, so I wonder if he will find his forehand again before an end comes to his career. I will change my mind if he reaches the forth round, though.
lets not get excited over this, he is still very much lost cause even after this victory. Welp, I guess one can hope it is one baby step towards the right direction though...
He'll mess up against Mannarino I imagine... sadly.
