Tomic is certainly top15 at the moment so it's not really surprising to see him win against a 18 y o that still got a lot to learn! I hope a good year for them both!
Aussie guys could rule the game next 7 or 8 years . They have a bunch of young players that slowly but surely coming up. This year they maybe will not do something big but next year they could be a force. This year maybe the plan is to get good experience and higher ranking without pressure winning something and stay healthy /fit on tour. Next year to be a force.
Four years from now Coric will still be younger than Tomic today.
Had Tomic had Coric's attitude he would've already been a top 10 for at least a couple of weeks.
Both Tomic and Kokkinakis are 6'5" and they should be even more conscientious about their trainings, body, rest etc. than 6'2" guys, to have a equal chance in the long run.
Good job Bernard!! Better player and much better person winning always brings a giggle to my face. Too bad he has a ceiling and cannot beat top 10 player in a decent form.
Hm. Solid win for Tomic. Playboy getting serious?
Borna has a ways to go. He's gonna realize it is extremely difficult to break through playing like Djokovic. Good physical condition and great work discipline is not enough, you have to have top level groundstrokes, and also be able to deal with players like this mixing up the pace. I wish him luck though, he's at the beginning of his journey.
nice result, new coaching change doing dividends. nothing against Coric, but this is the reality- he has NO weapons. extremely fit kid, solid all around, but he will never consistently be winning matches or going deep in tournaments when practically every player in the top 100 is equally or more dangerous than him. just saying
