The TMS are obligatory tournaments for the top ranked players. Agassi was penalized twice so he pulled out at Hamburg after win Rome ’02, and Toronto after win LA ’02. Nalbandian had to travel from Argentina to Miami to demonstrate that he’s not able to play at Nasdaq 100 Open ’04. If the players need to be rested in the Olympic Games, they have to take a good strategy (maybe ...losing in early rounds..???).
Well i guess this also depends of what each player wants more... I'm sure some players who really want to perform well at the olympics won't be too unhappy about losing in the early rounds... And i also think it really depends on what they do in Toronto...

Mario Ancic is at this moment injured and has withdraw from the qualifying for Toronto. He have also to qualify for Cincinetti. When he is fit to play i think he won't fly to America for one tournement where he have to qualify besides!!! So i hope he will be ready for the Olympic Games!!!

Champions Race standings are not used for tournament entries. Really they don't mean anything at all except who goes to Houston in November.

The last two Wildcards have been given to two guys named Tom - Haas and Enqvist.

These 'penalties' don't really worry the top players.

I just want to wish Gaston, Tommy, Xavier, Juanqui, Seb goodluck on their next tourney. Toronto was not so good for all of them, I just hope that the next one would be better. I'm not sure if they'll be playing in Cinci.

Well, all three of those players have now declined entry into the tournament and are off of the alternate list. I've updated the first post of this thread with the latest withdrawals (Blake unfortunately). Scott Draper has withdrawn from the qualie list. There are a whole bunch of other changes too, but since the draws are coming out today, it would just get all confusing and messy, so I'll leave it.
