Guga/Sa spanked the #1 seeds 6-4, 6-2 They are on fire, I'm sure a title in doubles would help Guga's confidence in singles! GOOOOOOO GUGAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. I don't want Guga to be a doubles specialist though But a first doubles title since 2001 would be awesome, no?
I'm very happy of guga, I think the same, surely that to win the tournament or to arrive at the end it is going to help to him much for its game in simple
Guga/Sà played apparently awesome today, Sà lost his serve in the first game of the match, but they broke back soon and Guga never lost his serve! They both held serve for the rest of the match and Guga was very satisfied with his game, he said that if he had played that way in singles he could have gone far! So this might be a very good boost of confidence for Guga, who knows! They play against a Polish team next, so Guga/Sà definitely have a chance, the whole crowd will be with them! GO guys!!!
And BTW even though Guga lost in singles, he lost his serve only twice in that match and still hasn't lost it in doubles, so his serve is definitely there! Now he needs to get his game back in singles, and the results will come hopefully!

"Our attitude in a court was very good, people was inspired. the joy infected the twisted one, that always it is well livened up here in the Bahia. Perhaps of my part, I was happy because I played e well, if had acted thus before, was in the end of simple ", said Guga.

As far as I know Fyrstenberg/Matkowski are decent doubles specialists (and they were no 3 seeds in the doubles draw), so I think it´s no shame to lose to them in a thight match.
Sucks for Guga as Ghem is hardly top 100 material. Funny how he refused to play challengers all this time and now that he faces a challenger-level player, he can't get past him. I watched the match and Guga clearly lacks rythm. He made some silly mistakes and seemed to have some trouble with the timing of the ball. Not to mention that he probably got tired by the time that the third set came.
Pulling out of Acapulco doesn't make any sense in my opinion (as his whole calendar planning doesn't), when it's not like he's coming from a long sequence of matches. If he wants to be a top player again, he must be prepared to play 4 or 5 matches in 6 days. Then again there can always be something else going on that we don't know about. I remember him saying last year (around August) that he was expecting to make his great comeback at the Latin-American swing. But if he doesn't come out and play...
As for the doubles, he'd have a high probability of becoming a top doubles specialist in my opinion, and that would be great, but I honestly don't see him getting enough motivation to pursuing a doubles career from now on.
