Borna Coric is the best Croatian junior player, he is the youngest player in the top 100 (39), one of the most talented young players in the world so he deserves his own thread.
Tomorrow starts a G1 tournament in Traralgon, Australia. In the first round Borna will play against Stefano Napolitano- #10 on the junior ranking.Napolitano is 1 year and 7 months older than Borna and he is #8 seeded on this tournament.
He has an outside chance but he'd probably need to win one of these two futures and make at least the semi in the other.
The cut for this year was 304 and last year it was 288. If he wins this tournament he will move to ~310. Then a semi next week would move him to ~300 or a final ~285. If he could manage to win both weeks he would move up to ~270 and definitely make it.
It's nice to see how good Borna is. He will be 347th for 2 weeks while Quinzi, who is best ranked player from generation, was 551th when he was 17 year and one month old how much Borna will have for 2 weeks. Quinzi is great and Borna is over 200 spots better! That is amazing!!!
So, in the first round of the Thailand F5 Futures Borna will face Lim, Yong-Kyu [4] from South Korea. He is 22, 297th in the World, already won one Challenger (when he was 18th, beat top 100 player in the final!) and he beated Julien Raister (87th) on the last tournament. Last year he beated Go Soeda (60th in that time). All of that were in South Korea.
