6-4 7-5 - broken toward the end of the 2nd set but recovered. 13 matches in a row now. Quinzi lost, so hopefully another win tomorrow and then possibly Peliwo in the final
He should play Markham and then if he wins keep playing Futures tournaments till he loses. He's already the first guy to qualify for all four slams in the same year - now he can go for the most consecutive tour pro match wins, or most consecutive titles.
Its nuts how this is helping his ranking. He's up to around 200 already in less than three weeks, and if he can pull this off in Markham he'd be up to around 180 after collecting 108 points in a month. Maybe should have done this sooner
Very little to defend before Drummondville next year too
I guess he'll play in Markham next week (sorry Snowwy )
He's up to 200 from 277 only three weeks ago - not sure how you can't applaud that, regardless of the method of entry into the tournaments or even the level of competition against which it came. Huge morale boost and DE's into challengers again.
Looks like an easy draw even by the standards of his recent futures matches. Qualifiers in his first two matches, and then possibly a QF against Peliwo. I'd really like to see that.
According to TC website, after Markham he'll play challengers. I'd to see him go for 8 tournament wins in a row to tie Borg, Lendl and McEnroe - can't find where anyone has won 8 Futures or Challenger titles in a row (or combination) - remember Agenor winning 4 in a row years ago.
Guess Frank is allowed for once to lose - anyway you look at it the last month has been an unqualified success. Maybe he had Blue Jays tickets and wanted to get to the Dome as quickly as possible
Look forward to him building on this in challengers later this year and hopefully at some point next year on the main circuit again where he belongs
