Well Jamie and Johnny are competing in their match for the chance to rise still further up the rankings - Johnny gets 10 points for his win and Jamie 15. The winner gets 10 more points but is unlikely to progress past Hewitt! :tears: Still, a great run for one of them. 5 victories for Jamie or 2 for Johnny. If only the AELTC would give Jamie a WC regardless of his result against Marray. He has proved he can win a match at Wimby again
Status as of 1st round at Queen's:-
277 Marray
326 Delgado
Status as of 2nd round at Queen's:-
261 Marray
296 Delgado
Projected status as of 3rd round at Queen's: -
248 Marray (if he advances over Delgado)
273 Delgado (if he advances over Marray)
A shock win over the likely opponent of Hewitt in 3rd round (extremely unlikely but nice to fantasise!!): -
211 Marray
232 Delgado
WOW!!! Some potential rankings moves here! Not to mention the fact that Flanagan will rise over 150 places after qualifying for the tournament too!! He'll be around 650 mark.
ah this is great, thanks for working it out jez, okay when they play i hope for a delgado win because then we will have more in the top 300
and best of luck to ian!! what if he can beat mark how would he rise in the rankings then!!!
ah come on delgado/marray you can beat hewitt the top 200 is calling your name
6. Tim Henman
110. Greg Rusedski
163. Arvind Parmar
250. Jonny Marray
262. Lee Childs

427. James Auckland
479. Mark Hilton
Im sure I caught on the radio that Greg Rusedski will now suffer a major drop through the rankings to around the 300s due to not successfully defending his Nottingham Open crown.
Earlier this year David Felgate stated that one of his measures of sucess for British tennis, wouldn't be whether we could find a couple of stars but how the general ranking of all our players improves. I.e how many players we can get into the top 200, what the ranking of our 10th best player is.
To follow these 2 targets then.. at the beginning of June we had 3 in the top 200, we now have 4
then the 10th best player was only ranked 502. Today, only 4 months later, our 10th best player is ranked 341.
this is a massive improvement and the future of tennis looks good!

Not a bad fall for Arv - could have been far worse.
1 challenger QF and he'll be back in the top 200.
Great results in the GB Satellite #1 for Mark, James, Lee and Richard resulting in large rankings rises. All these guys are on the verge of being able to enter chanllengers regularly now.
15 Brits in the top 500 and 14 inside the top 400. Hugely impressive.
Compared to end of last year: -
Brit #5 = 226 (+11)
Brit #10 = 321 (+5)
Brit #15 = 517 (+99)
Great job guys! Please keep it up and achieve the LTA's aim of 5 men in the top 200, 3 being inside the top 100.
