Haas Returns to Memphis Seeking a Fourth Title

Memphis, TN – Memphis, TN – Tommy Haas, currently ranked #12 in the world, will return to Memphis to defend his title!

He lost his trademark long hair early in 2007, but he never lost a break point last February in any of his matches as he battled his way to defeat Andy Roddick 6-3, 6-2 and take home the title to the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships and the Cellular South Cup.

Tommy Haas is returning to Memphis as only the second player to win three titles in Memphis, following in the footsteps of Jimmy Connors.

Haas reached the quarterfinals of the 2007 Pacific Life Open where he lost to Andy Murray in a third-set tiebreaker. Not known for his skills on grass court, Haas advanced to the 4 th round of Wimbledon for the first time in 2007 but withdrew after he suffered a torn abdominal muscle. Haas also reached the quarterfinals of the 2007 U.S. Open with a thrilling five set win over James Blake, another Memphis favorite who will also play in February.
