in a Ljuba-esque swansong, Mahut at a 2015-instated grass masters.

Re: Outside of the top 10, who would be your favourite for a ATP 1000 title?
Most hot candidates mentioned already. I'll put forward a few names and in brackets why I don't really think they will succeed in grabbing an M1000. Top ten or rather top 8 are too consistent to allow other players the big titles. Could happen in Paris if the top guys tank or are exhausted, Shanghai if some top guys don't bother to make the trip or maybe Miami of the top guys burned themselves in IW but it's unlikely and would need a lot of luck, injuries etc to happen. Anyhow these are the players I believe have the peak game to make it, if all if's and but's happen.
Clay: Almagro most obvious candidate. Wawrinka isn't bad on the slow stuff either.
(Both sort of struggle with the mental game)
Hard: Nishikori, Wawrinka, Gulbis, Dolgopolov
(Nishikori lacking a serve, Wawrinka the mental part, Gulbis and Dolgo the consistency)
I-Hard: No obvious candidates but Cilic, Janowicz, Raonic probably stand out.
(All three lacking movement and variety)
Jury still out on youngsters like Tomic and Dimitrov.
