Btw, Sjoukje have I told how much I like your new avater?
It is so cute with this unbelievable smile.
Just also wanted to tell you that I did not see Nando last sunday in Halle. As the weather was very bad, we did not see that many players, but I was happy that I at least saw Pim Pim
I don't think many of the clay court players are doing the pre-Wimbledon tournaments - as the co-founder of the Elitest Clay Court Snobs Club in the general message section, I wholeheartedly concur with skipping the grass... Sorry Lady Carlita - I think you said you like the cow stuff.. Though I did love Wimbledon when I was there last year - had a great time, and loved the entire tournament.
But I miss reading about my boys. Only 3 more weeks until Gstaad...
Time to move this thread up - I'm not being critical of our boy (am saying the same about Nico too), but he has to really focus and work very hard this summer clay season. His ranking has gone down so much - it can't slip anymore. Can only blame the bad draws so much...
Forget about the hair.
Forget Daphne. (I know will be difficult for him...lol!)
Forget the parties.
No more fun.
He's got to focus and put in some serious practice time.
Get to Gstaad early.
Lots of great clay players out of Wimbledon - get with them and spend the necessary time on court.
He doesn't want to go into hardcourt season (which he is also good on) having to qualify for master series events etc. If he can put in a great clay court season, he can move up again.
I hope for Fer's sake that he reads it and listens...
I adore the boy, and its sad to see such an extremely talented player down in the rankings and having to qualify again. He s/b in the top twenty if not top fifteen. Don't know what is happening with my sweetie, but he needs to turn this around before it goes further.
I'm not sure about Gstaad because Nico usually plays Balstad so I usually concentrate on that tournament. But this year he's playing Gstaad too.
Madrid has a high altitude also - a lot of players have trouble playing it. But Fer is obviously from Madrid, so it shouldn't be a problem for him.
Ditto Nico from Chile where I guess they have high altitutudes too because they also say when he plays Madrid its not a problem for him because he's used to it.
But with that said, I still want both Fer and Nico to go early to Gstaad - between both of them not having troubles with the altitudes because they are used to it, they will have even more of an advantage if they go early and get used to the courts there.
Good grief, I hope they don't meet early in the tournament.
@ Lyn (hope I got yer name right ) He has to focus and win as many matches as he can....vamos Fer! We believe in you :bigclap: !
I truly hope for a good draw in Gstaad...he has been getting really shitty draws and he got a low confidence level which made him lose even the easier matches.. :awww:
But I'm positive about this summer it's gonna be a loooooooooooooooong hot summer

Doesn't look good for Nico - I think the Olympics points the same week that this year is Cincy - something like 400 points, and he lost in the first round in Cincy last year. I'll be there this year rooting him on, but doubt it will help too much. No confidence, no coach but lots of points to defend = huge rankings drop this summer. He's be down to 60 something if he can't get it into gear quickly.
Both my chicos are in the same place. They both have the ability to be top 20, top 15 players, but both have no confidence on the court. And Fer's ranking is already low, and Nico's on a path to follow him down there.
Both need to just focus, no fun, practice practice practice. And get tough mentality (easier said than done).
I wish I could give both of them lots of but what they need more is . The lack of focus in both of them is making me want to :banghead: . lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really thought the win over Roddick in Rome would have done wonders for him - Andy is the highest ranked player Nando has beaten, right?
Is Nando going to too many parties? I know he was at the player one in London but are there more?
